We presented our Small Business Recognition Award today to Joseph’s Finest Meats, a Dunning butcher shop, and deli steeped in history. Founder Joseph Camarda admits he was “a little bit crazy” to start his own business in the 1970s. Now 88 years old, he has kept this family-run shop thriving for decades through dedication to his customers and love for his product.
Running the business was never a one-man job- his wife Teresa cranked the sausage machine in the back while their five children helped out after school. The Sicilian immigrants have made the Northwest Side their home, and we are so grateful to the Camardas for their contribution to our community.
