“When I reported for the check-in that morning, I stood alongside not only everyday Chicagoans but also some of my representatives and other elected officials: state Sen. Natalie Toro, state Rep. Jaime Andrade, state Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Dan Pogorzelski and Cook County Commissioner Anthony Quezada. They spoke to the crowd during introductions, then they got down to business like the rest of us and later headed home with dirt stuck to their shoes.”
