Last week, I was proud to stand with Rep Ford and the giants of harm reduction work (i.e., emotional and physical lifesavers) for a press conference on the importance of harm reduction work (which some of us simply call mental and behavioral healthcare). Check out the short clip below from the harm reduction press conference, and more importantly, check this article out about how we must do better with Opioid Settlement Funds. Dr. Sorrell (pictured on my right) is quoted, “I am concerned that it doesn’t appear that significant funds have been dispersed up to this point,” said Tanya Sorrell, director at the Rush Substance Use Disorder Center of Excellence and co-chair of the Illinois Harm Reduction and Recovery Coalition.
