On May 17, Rep. LaPointe joined Governor Pritzker, Leader Delia Ramirez, Senator Robert Peters, and Senator Omar Aquino to speak at the bill signing of the COVID–19 Emergency Housing Act. Rep. LaPointe was proud to co-sponsor this new law, which will help make sure that federal housing dollars that are being sent to Illinois will flow quickly and efficiently to the people who need help the most.

Looking for rent relief? Both Chicago and Illinois currently have rent relief programs that are accepting applications. The programs provide up to 15 months of rent relief.
Chicagoans, apply through the city here by June 8.
Illinoisans, find out more about the state’s program here. Landlords must initiate the application by June 7 and tenants can complete it by June 14.
